Cooma Steel was founded by Harry Wolf in 1961 during the construction of the Snowy Scheme.
Over the years Cooma Steel has helped in creating the Monaro region become what it now is. Starting out specialising in structural steel Cooma Steel diversified the business during the late 90s by becoming a Metaland Dealer to supply steel and associated products. This lead to the Cooma Steel Metaland that is well known around the Monaro region. As a result Cooma Steel Metaland begun to supply sheds, roofing, fencing both residential and rural, Air Liquide Industrial gas.
Cooma Steel Metaland is now proudly owned and operated by Robert and Tanya Wolf. Robert is well known in the area with his involvement in the Cooma Monaro Historic Automobile Club Inc as Club President. Tanya is also well known with the volunteering work she does at the Cooma Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
